Celje Regional Museum
The Celje Regional Museum includes two locations in the city centre: the Old Landgraviate Building and the Prince's Mansion. Permanent exhibitions take us through time, from pre-historic times to present.
The Old Landgraviate Building includes the following permanent exhibitions:
- Lapidarium: a special space in the museum where the stone monuments take us to the times of the Roman Celeia.
- Cultural history collection: includes a rich collection of furniture, paintings, relief prints, and other artefacts from the period between the 13th and the early 20th century. It also includes the exhibition "From Gothics to Historicism, Step by Step" which is adapted for people with impaired vision.
- The Celje Ceiling: this is the central highlight of the Old Landgraviate Building, and a rare example of secular painting from the period of transition from renaissance to early baroque.
- Ethnological collection: a rich selection of spiritual and material heritage from the Celje region.
- Alma M. Karlin exhibition: it unveils the life of Celje's female globetrotter and writer Alma M. Karlin (1889–1950).
